Ruaridh Allen (he/him)
Technical Manager
Ruaridh Allen is our technical manager, his role is to facilitate and develop what can be offered within the workshops at SSW. He is on hand predominantly within the metal workshop and is enthusiastic about introducing people to the joys of welding and making sparks. He is interested in the possibilities of steel as a tactile and engaging material to experiment with.
His background is in metalworking and art fabrication. He has worked for the past ten years as a maker with Sculpture and Design in Glasgow, producing work for artists, designers, and architects across a wide range of mediums, from large-scale traditional sculpture to more community-focused projects and site-specific architectural interventions.
