Jo works closely with Sam on projects, residencies, events and communications at SSW but above all is the person ensuring artists are taken care of and get the most out of their time at SSW. Jo helps artists with their development and ideas on residencies as well as the practical planning, you’ll also find them stoking the onsite sauna, cooking pancakes at potluck breakfasts and leading walks. Jo works both remotely (based in Edinburgh) and onsite at SSW.
Jo has worked in the arts for over 11 years as an artist and producer with the likes of Artsadmin (UK), Unlimited (UK), Dance Base (UK), Aberdeen Performing Arts (UK), Yaraqa (Lebanon), Somerset House Studios (UK) and independently with artists including Jo Hellier, George Finlay Ramsay and Stephanie Black Daniels. They like the messy process of making usually works on projects that do not fit into clear-cut categories, and sit across visual art, live art and dance, often happening in unusual spaces or are at the research stage.
Jo spends their time hiking, boxing, making art, consuming culture and hosting a regular radio show on EHFM.
