We are so excited to be kicking off our Community Making Space Programme this summer with a wide range of free creative and skills based sessions developed in collaboration with our community advisors. This summer we will dig into the possibilities of working with textiles – from skills sessions that will decorate and adorn through to practical workshops on how material connects us to the world and to each other.

This textile programme will be the focus of our weekly Thursday sessions and will center on the creation of a community picnic blanket for Lumsden, sharing this work in progress at a village wide picnic at the Produce Show in August. We will also be re-launching the Lumsden Community Fridge – available on a Thursday during these session times – where local residents will be able to pop in and support us in lessening food waste from local supermarkets by taking home free food after each event.

We are launching a new monthly Clay Social taking place on a Friday evening once a month. This offers Lumsden, Honeybarrel, Mossat and Kildrummy residents free access to ceramics to learn the basic skills required to shape, mould and decorate clay whilst enjoying time together in these relaxed evening sessions developing your own creative projects.

We are also excited to continue our Holiday Art Clubs – expanding them to support both primary and secondary aged young people from the local area throughout the Summer, October and Easter holidays.

We look forward to you joining us for a summer of making skills!
